PhD student Ignacio Laraudogoitia from LTC AENIGME received the prize for the best thesis work
Doctoral student Ignacio Laraudogoitia received the prize for the best thesis work at the last Metal Madrid exhibition for his work on "the generative design and manufacture of fixtures for aeronautical assembly" (BioFly), allowing full flexibility and reconfiguration of tooling assemblies whatever the geometry and dimensions of the components to be assembled (fuselage or wing). This collaborative work between the UPV/EHU (Pr. Franck Girot Mata) and TECNALIA (Dr. Maider Garcia de Cortazar) benefited from the significant help of Pr. Nicolas Perry (I2M) concerning the sustainability of the design and manufacturing, carbon footprint and Life Cycle Assessment.
